What is Iglu Mouth Ulcer Treatment Gel?

Iglu Mouth Ulcer Treatment is a fast form of relief for mouth ulcers, sore gums, and denture rubbing. It forms a protective barrier over the affected when applied. This protects against further irritation.

What are mouth ulcers?

Mouth ulcers are a common form of ulcer that is commonly found in the oral cavity, also known as the opening of the mouth, or on the tongue. Mouth ulcers are not contagious and are caused by several different conditions. These include things you can help prevent and things that you cannot. Things such as biting the inside of your cheek, cuts and burns when eating and drinking, or a toothbrush or toothpaste that is irritating. Some conditions that cannot be controlled, such as hormone changes, medication, or genetics can make getting mouth ulcers more common.

How does Iglu help to treat mouth ulcers?

Iglu Gel works in three ways to treat ulcers:

  1. It forms a coating that helps to protect the sensitive area of the mouth that has been affected.
  2. The active ingredient lidocaine works as a painkiller
  3. Prevents infection

Who is Iglu Gel suitable for?

Iglu Gel is suitable for adults and children aged 7 and over. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the gel.

Can this Iglu gel be used by someone who is either pregnant or breastfeeding?

Caution should be taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, so speak to the doctor before using.

Can the gel be used with other types of medication?

There is no evidence of problems when using Iglu Gel in conjunction with other types of medication. However, it is recommended that you speak to a doctor before using this gel if using any other form of medication.

How should Iglu Gel be used?

Wash your hands before and after use. Firstly, you should remove all fluid/saliva from the area where the ulcer is using a clean tissue. Then, apply some gel to your fingertip or a cotton bud and apply it to the ulcer. Make sure to apply it in one motion. The gel will feel sticky at first but will form a protective coating over the ulcer. Repeat these steps for any other ulcers that you may have. Ensure not to use too much gel when applying it.

Are there any side effects?

A side effect will most likely be as a result of an allergic reaction. These side effects include wheezing and a lack of breath. If you do notice an allergic reaction, contact a doctor as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you discover using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
