What is Iglu Mouth Ulcer Treatment Gel?

Iglu Gel is a treatment for annoying mouth ulcers. It treats and protects your mouth ulcers, helping to ease pain and irritation as they heal. If you’re suffering from annoying mouth ulcers that make eating and talking a chore, Iglu Gel could help.

What are mouth ulcers?

Mouth ulcers are small, painful ulcers that can appear on your lips, tongue, or inside of your mouth. They usually aren’t anything to worry about and will clear up by themselves within a couple of weeks. However, mouth ulcers can be very painful and irritating, especially when you talk, eat, or drink, leaving many people looking for a way to ease their pain and help their ulcer to heal.

How will Iglu Gel treat my mouth ulcer?

Iglu Gel contains 2 active ingredients which work together to soothe your mouth ulcers. The first is lidocaine hydrochloride, which is a local anaesthetic and eases pain and irritation in the area. The second is aminoacridine hydrochloride, which is an antiseptic and combats bacterium around your mouth ulcer. Iglu Gel also forms a gel coating when you’ve applied it to your mouth ulcer, protecting it from further irritation as your mouth heals.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. It is not currently known whether this product has any potential risks during pregnancy or breastfeeding, so make sure to only take this product of a medical professional tells you to.

How to use this gel

Before using this product, wash your hands thoroughly and use a clean tissue to remove any excess saliva or moisture from around your mouth ulcer. Squeeze a small amount of Iglu gel onto a clean, dry fingertip or a cotton bud and apply directly to the mouth ulcer. Apply in one single wiping action, do not dap the gel onto your ulcer. Repeat if you have multiple mouth ulcers. Avoid applying the gel to the back of your throat or your tongue.

Can I buy Iglu Gel over the counter?

You do not need a prescription for Iglu Gel, however, you will be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire by your Chemist 4 U pharmacist before we can take your order. This includes some simple questions that all pharmacies legally are required to ask before supplying this kind of product. This helps our pharmacy team to be sure that this product is the best choice for you.

When should this product not be used?

Iglu gel is not suitable for use in children under the age of 7. Do not use this product if you are allergic to lidocaine hydrochloride, aminoacridine hydrochloride, or any of the other listed ingredients. For use on mouth ulcers only, avoid contact with eyes or other sensitive areas. Do not use this product to treat teething pain. If you have had a mouth ulcer that lasts for more than 3 weeks or keeps coming back speak to your doctor or dentist for advice.

Iglu Mouth Ulcer Treatment Gel - 8g Reviews

Susie Main,

Amazing stuff. I have been using Oragel Extra Strength Gel to escape the pain of my mouth ulcers, and it was effective but it also stung at first, and had to be re-applied often. Iglu Mouth Ulcer Treatment Gel, on the other hand not only doesn't sting at all, it actually works to heal the ulcers, and it doesn't need to be re-applied so frequently. The first time I used it I was a bit weirded out by the fact that it's a slightly grainy paste and it feels odd for a second or two. However it almost immediately (magically!!) turns itself into a slippery coating which instantly begins to soothe, and which lasts overnight. I also, in desperation, used it one time on a hole next to a loose tooth which was very painful and was pleasantly surprised to find the toothache disappeared!
