Calcough Children’s Soothing Syrup Blackcurrant is a cough liquid that has been designed to help relieve dry, tickly coughs and those pesky sore throats. 

It has been formulated especially for children.

How Calcough Children’s Soothing Syrup Blackcurrant works

Calcough Children’s Soothing Syrup Blackcurrant contains glycerol, sucrose and liquid glucose. It works by coating and soothing the back of the throat. 

Directions

Always take Calcough Children’s Soothing Syrup Blackcurrant exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 

Children aged 1-5 years old: 1 x 5ml spoonful to be taken 3-4 times a day. 

Children over 5 years old:  2 x 5ml spoonfuls to be taken 3-4 times a day.

Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Calcough Children’s Soothing Syrup Blackcurrant may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Side effects are not expected with this medicine. 

If your child experiences any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 

Warnings

Calcough Children’s Soothing Syrup Blackcurrant may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not give this syrup to your child if they are allergic to any of the ingredients.

Using/taking other medicines

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if your child is taking or has recently taken any other medication, including medication obtained without a prescription. 

Age restrictions 

This product is not suitable for children under 1.

Storage information

Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
