What is Sudafed Congestion Relief Nasal Spray?
This Sudafed Nasal Spray is a form of treatment that works to relieve the effects of nasal congestion. Using this spray will help to open up the nose that has become blocked. This spray works thanks to the active ingredient xylometazoline which is a decongestant that thins the blood vessels that have become swollen as a result of an infection.
What is the cause of nasal congestion?
Nasal congestion is often caused by an infection such as a cold or flu. The germs get into the body through the eyes, nose, or mouth and cause symptoms that are commonly associated with the conditions. A blocked nose occurs when the blood vessels become swollen and make breathing more difficult.
Who is this Sudafed nasal spray suitable for?
This nasal spray is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 12 and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the spray. You should also not use this spray if any of the following applies to you:
- Taken antidepressants, including Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs)
- Recently had neurosurgery
- Had your pituitary gland removed
Anyone who is using medication for any other condition should speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U before using.
Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this Sudafed nasal spray?

How should Sudafed Congestion Relief Nasal Spray be used?
To use this spray, remove the cap from the nozzle, and hold down the plunger while resting the bottle with your thumb. Do this until spray comes out of the bottle. Place the nozzle inside the nostril and breathe inwards at the same time as spraying some of the solutions into the nostril. Repeat this for the other nostril. Wipe the nozzle and put the cap back on after use. The recommended dosage is sprayed into each nostril 2-3 times a day. Do not use for longer than 7 days at a time. If symptoms persist, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist for advice.
