Are Aveeno products emollients?
Some Aveeno products work as emollients, including the Aveeno Dermexa emollients and the Baby Soothing Relief emollients.
Emollients work by forming a protective barrier over the skin, locking moisture in and keeping irritants out.
This helps to not only hydrate your dry skin, but protect it from detergents, soaps, and other irritants that can aggravate dry skin conditions like eczema or dermatitis.
Are Aveeno products tested on animals?
Aveeno products are not tested on animals except in the few countries that legally require animal testing.
Animal testing for cosmetics is currently banned in the UK and across Europe.
When should I use moisturiser?
Moisturisers are one of the most essential components of a skincare routine, but when is the best time to use them?
Always use a moisturiser after cleansing or washing your face for a boost of hydration that will prevent your skin from drying out.
Generally, using a moisturiser once in the morning (along with SPF!) and once in the evening is a good benchmark.
Which moisturiser is right for my skin type?
If you’ve got normal / combination skin, you’ll need a balancing moisturiser that will hydrate those dry spots without worsening your oiler areas.
If you’ve got oily or acne-prone skin, look for an oil-free, water-based moisturiser or one that’s non-comedogenic so it won’t block your pores - this way, your skin will be left feeling soft and supple, but shine and blemish free.
If your skin is dry, you’ll need a rich cream or emollient that’s designed to lock in moisture.
