What is BetterYou Vitamin D Spray?

BetterYou Vitamin D Spray is a peppermint flavoured oral spray containing 75μg (3000IU) of vitamin D in each single spray. Vitamin D is essential for keeping the immune system healthy and it can be beneficial for most people in the UK to use a supplement, particularly during autumn and winter. BetterYou Vitamin D Spray is a convenient alternative to taking a tablet.

What is the recommended dosage?

The recommended dosage is one spray each day, unless your doctor has advised otherwise. Spraying underneath the tongue or on the inside of the cheek is the most effective way to ensure all of the vitamin D is absorbed by the body. You can take BetterYou Vitamin D Spray at any time of the day, with or without food.

What is vitamin D deficiency?

Vitamin D deficiency simply refers to when your body isn’t naturally producing enough vitamin D - this is usually diagnosed with a blood test. Our bodies create vitamin D when direct sunlight comes into contact with our skin and the vitamin regulates the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. This is an essential process for keeping bones, teeth and muscles healthy.

Most people in the UK should be taking a vitamin D supplement during autumn and winter. This is because countries in northern climates don’t get strong enough sunlight during the winter months and people aren’t able to get enough vitamin D naturally.

When should BetterYou Vitamin D Spray not be used?

BetterYou Vitamin D Spray will usually be suitable for most people. You should not, however, take this supplement if:

  • You are allergic to vitamin D or any of the other ingredients

  • You have high levels of vitamin D in your blood

Speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this supplement if you have any underlying medical conditions or if you are taking any other medicines or herbal remedies, including those obtained without a prescription.

Are there any side effects?

It is very unlikely that you will experience any side effects from taking BetterYou Vitamin D Spray. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, skin rash) seek medical attention immediately.

If you experience any side effects, including those that are not listed in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
