What are Eno Fruit Salts Original?

Eno Fruit Salts are an effective treatment to relieve indigestion, nausea and flatulence. It’s been used as a soothing remedy for indigestion for over 150 years, so you can trust that this product will get to work fast to ease your discomfort.

How to use this product

Always take Eno Fruit Salts exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. Add 5g (the equivalent to 1 full teaspoonful) of Eno Fruit Salts to a glass of water. Once the powder has dissolved, you may drink it. Repeat every 2-3 hours if necessary. Do not exceed more than 6 doses in a 24 hour period.

How do Eno Fruit Salts relieve indigestion?

Eno salts contain the active ingredients sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and anhydrous sodium. These three ingredients work together to regulate the pH level in your stomach, neutralising the stomach acid that irritates your sensitive stomach lining. This calms the stomach, easing irritation by helping your digestive system get back to normal.

What causes indigestion?

There are various reasons why you might be suffering from indigestion, such as lifestyle choices, certain foods, drinks or medication. The most common reasons are the result of eating fatty, greasy, or spicy foods; overeating or eating your food too fast; consuming too much caffeine or alcohol; smoking and anxiety, and some antibiotics and pain relievers. You may experience the following symptoms:

  • Heartburn

  • Wind (flatulence)

  • Feeling sick

  • Feeling full or bloated

  • Bringing up food or fluid

Are Eno Fruit Salts suitable for children?

Eno Fruit Salts are not suitable for children under the age of 12. If you’re looking for an indigestion treatment for a child under the age of 12, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice on alternative treatment options.

Are Eno Fruit Salts suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking Eno Fruit Salts to make sure it’s the right indigestion treatment for you.

When should this product not be used?

Eno Fruit Salts may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
