When is Imodium Instant recommended?

Imodium Instant may be recommended to you to relieve two types of diarrhoea: short term, acute diarrhoea and diarrhoea associated with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome).

These melt in the mouth tablets contain the active ingredient loperamide hydrochloride. They work by slowing down your bowels and improving absorption of water and important electrolytes.

This pack contains 18 mint favoured tablets that can relieve diarrhoea in less than one hour.

How do I take it?

Important: the usage instructions for how to take these tablets depend on what type of diarrhoea you are using this treatment for. Always read the patient information leaflet before use and follow the instructions closely.

If you are unsure of how to use these tablets, ask your pharmacist or doctor for advice.

To treat short term (up to 48 hours), acute diarrhoea, this medicine may be used by adults and children over the age of 12.

Take two tablets to start the treatment. Then take one tablet after each loose bowel movement.

Do not take more than 6 tablet in any 24 hour period.

To treat diarrhoea related to diagnosed IBS, this medicine may be used by adults (aged 18 and over) only.

Take two tablets to start the treatment. Then take one tablet after each loose bowel movement. You may take the tablets for up to 2 weeks for repeated attacks lasting less than 48 hours.
