What is Cuticura Mildly Medicated Talcum Powder?

Cuticura Mildly Medicated talcum powder is soothing talc which uses natural ingredients which may help to ease irritation in eczema-prone skin. Perfect for those who suffer from dry skin conditions, Cuticura talc helps to dry out your skin and absorbs excess moisture which could irritate sensitive skin.

What is eczema?

Eczema is a dry skin condition which many people suffer from every day. It’s very common, especially in children, and can occur in small patches or widespread areas across the body. If you have eczema, you may notice the following symptoms:

  • Redness
  • Inflammation
  • Dry skin
  • Cracked skin
  • Itching

How will Cuticura Talc help to soothe eczema-prone skin?

Cuticura Mildly Medicated Talc contains 2 active ingredients which help to soothe your dry skin. Allantoin is a natural product which promotes healing and the growth of new, healthy tissue without irritating sensitive skin. Zinc Oxide is a natural mineral which helps to ease irritation and itching, acting as a natural antiseptic and antibacterial agent.

Can I use this product if I’m using another medication?

If you’re using other medication, especially those applied to the skin, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product. This will help you to avoid interactions between your medications, which could cause unwanted side effects or make your medication less effective.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product. Some medicated products may not be suitable for you or your baby at this time and a medical professional may wish to recommend another more suitable product.

How to use Cuticura talc?

Before using this product, make sure your skin is clean and dry. Gently apply a small amount of Cuticura talc to the irritated area of skin with your hands. If you use a moisturiser on the affected areas of skin, make sure you wait for around 30 minutes after using your moisturiser before applying this talc, this will give the moisturiser time to soak into the skin. For best results, use once or twice a day.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use Cuticura Mildly Medicated Talc if you are allergic to allantoin, zinc oxide, or any of the other listed ingredients. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes and other sensitive areas. Keep powder away from children’s nose and mouth.

Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medications, Cuticura Mildly Medicated Talc can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any irritation or other side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting the side effects of medication, please see the MHRA’s Yellow Card Scheme.
