What does our loratadine hay fever bundle include?
The loratadine hay fever bundle contains three different treatments to help get you through peak pollen season and let you enjoy summer without any hassle. The bundle has enough medication to last three months, and includes:
- 90 loratadine tablets
- 2 beclometasone nasal sprays
- 3 sodium cromoglicate eye drops
Designed by our pharmacists, the bundle contains medication that not only works together but gives you better protection and relief from symptoms overall.
Additionally, the bundle is available at a lower cost than if you were to buy all treatments individually.
What can our loratadine hay fever bundle be used for?
This bundle targets symptoms across your whole body, rather than just one area. Since each treatment works differently, when used together they help manage a wider range of symptoms at the same time:
- Loratadine tablets help control your body’s allergic response, easing symptoms like sneezing, itching, and a runny nose.
- Beclometasone nasal spray reduces inflammation inside your nose, helping to relieve congestion, irritation, and a blocked nose.
- Sodium cromoglicate eye drops soothe and protect your eyes, reducing redness, watering, and itching.
By combining these treatments into one routine, you’re able to tackle symptoms where they start and where they’re most noticeable, like your nose, eyes and body.
Despite the name, the bundle can be used for more than just managing hay fever. For example, it’s able to help manage symptoms of general allergies caused by things like dust or pet dander.
How does our loratadine bundle work?
This bundle combines three different types of allergy treatment that work in slightly different ways to target the underlying allergic response and help relieve symptoms across your body.
How does loratadine work?
Loratadine belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It blocks the effects of histamine, a chemical your body releases during an allergic reaction.
By stopping histamine from binding to its receptors, it helps reduce symptoms like sneezing, itching and a runny nose. It usually starts to work in up to three hours after taking it.
How does beclometasone nasal spray work?
Beclometasone is a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation inside your nose, helping to ease congestion and keep symptoms under control over time.
It starts working to reduce inflammation from the first spray, but has to build up in effectiveness over time, so it may take 3-4 days to notice its impact.
How do sodium cromoglicate eye drops work?
Sodium cromoglicate is a mast cell stabiliser, meaning it helps stop your body from releasing histamine in the first place.
By preventing this allergic response in your eyes, it helps reduce redness, itching and watering. It can take a few days of regular use to notice the full effect.
How to use our loratadine hay fever bundle
To get the most from your treatment, it’s important to use each product correctly and consistently. Follow the guidance below for a simple overview, and check each product’s patient information leaflet for full instructions.
How to use loratadine tablets
- Take one tablet once a day with water.
- Can be taken with or without food.
- Swallow the tablet whole.
For more in-depth information on how to take these tablets, you should read the patient information leaflet first.
How to use beclometasone nasal spray
- Use in each nostril as directed, usually once or twice a day.
- Shake the bottle before use.
- Aim slightly away from the centre of your nose when spraying.
If you’re unsure how to use the nasal spray, read the leaflet that comes with medication packet, as this will have a diagram showing you how to properly use the nasal spray.
How to use sodium cromoglicate eye drops
- Apply one or two drops into each eye as directed.
- Wash your hands before and after use.
- Blink a few times after applying to spread the drops evenly.
Make sure that you remove any contact lenses from your eyes before using the eye drops. You should consult the patient information leaflet if you prefer visual instructions on how to use the drops.
If you are still unsure on how to take any of the treatments, speak to a pharmacist for more advice before using/taking them.
Is it safe to take these treatments at the same time?
Yes. Loratadine tablets, beclometasone nasal spray and sodium cromoglicate eye drops are generally safe to use together when taken as directed.
All three treatments are different medications with different:
- active ingredients
- mechanisms (how they work when used)
- parts of the body they target
They’re often used in combination to help manage hay fever more effectively and using them as part of the same routine can actually help you stay on top of symptoms better than just taking one.
This bundle has been put together by our pharmacists to give you a convenient, well-matched treatment plan for the allergy season. It’s been designed to give you continuous relief and protection in your nose, eyes and whole body across summer.

Alternative hay fever treatments
If this bundle isn’t the right fit for you, then there are plenty of other options available.
Our cetirizine hay fever bundle offers the same combination of treatments, but uses a different antihistamine, cetirizine, which some people feel works better for them.
If your main symptom is a blocked nose and you need quicker relief, decongestant nasal sprays can help to ease congestion more rapidly.
Frequently asked questions about our loratadine hay fever bundle
Is loratadine the same as Piriton?
No. Loratadine is a non-drowsy antihistamine, while Piriton (chlorphenamine) can cause drowsiness. This means loratadine is often preferred during the day.
Is loratadine the same as cetirizine?
Loratadine and cetirizine are both non-drowsy antihistamines, but they contain different active ingredients. Both are effective, but some people find one works better for them than the other. You can find out more in our guide to loratadine vs cetirizine.
What’s the difference between loratadine and Claritin?
There’s no difference in how they work as Claritin is simply a branded version of loratadine.
How long can you use beclometasone nasal spray for?
This is often used up to 3 months during allergy season, but you should check the leaflet or speak to a pharmacist if you need to use it long term.
Does beclometasone unblock your nose?
Yes, beclometasone helps reduce inflammation in the nasal passages, easing congestion and make breathing easier.
However, it doesn’t provide instant relief and needs to be used for a few days to build up maximum efficacy. For instant relief, decongestant nasal sprays are better.
How long can you use sodium cromoglicate eye drops for?
You should stop using sodium cromoglicate eye drops if your symptoms do not improve within two days, or if you need to use these drops for more than 3 months.
Additionally, the drops should always be disposed of 28 days after opening, even if you’ve got solution remaining in the bottle.
