What are Cymalon Cranberry Sachets used for?

Cymalon Cranberry Sachets are used for the treatment of cystitis and other mild urinary tract infections in women. If you’re experiencing a burning sensation when you pass water, are suffering from lower abdomen pain, or find that you feel the urge to urinate much more often, you may find that Cymalon Cranberry Sachets can help to relieve your symptoms. This is a short, two-day course of medication which could provide relief when you need it most.

How do Cymalon Cranberry Sachets work?

Cymalon Cranberry Sachets contain the active ingredient sodium citrate, which is used to relieve discomfort in those suffering from urinary tract infections or cystitis. Cymalon Cranberry Sachets can help to relieve the discomfort caused by these conditions by making your urine less acidic, causing less irritation as you pass water.

How to take Cymalon Cranberry Sachets.

Mix the contents of one Cymalon Cranberry Sachet with a 200ml glass of water and drink immediately. Take one Cymalon Cranberry Sachet three times a day for two days, as required. If you do not see an improvement after two days or your symptoms get worse, seek medical advice and do not repeat the treatment unless told to by your doctor.

When should Cymalon Cranberry Sachets not be used?

Cymalon Cranberry Sachets are not to be used by men or children. Store in a dry place, out of sight and reach of children. Do not take Cymalon Cranberry Sachets if you are allergic to sodium citrate or any of the other ingredients listed. Cymalon Cranberry Sachets are not to be used if you have:

  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • A history of kidney disease
  • Are on a low sodium (salt) diet

Cymalon Cranberry Sachets are not recommended if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak with your doctor before using Cymalon Cranberry Sachets. Most people do not experience side effects while taking Cymalon Cranberry Sachets, however, you may find that you need to pass water more frequently. If you do experience this or any other side effects, speak to your doctor or pharmacist. You can also record any side effect that you discover using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
