What are Cystocalm sachets?
Cystocalm sachets are a treatment which can help to reduce the symptoms of cystitis or urinary tract infections in women. If you’re suffering with a burning or stinging sensation when you pee or find that you need to go to the toilet more often than usual, you may have cystitis. Use Cystocalm sachets to create a delicious cranberry flavoured drink that can help to ease your discomfort with just a 2-day treatment.
What is cystitis?
Cystitis is a type of infection called a UTI, or urinary tract infection. It happens when bacteria enter your bladder through your urethra, causing infection and inflammation. This can happen more often due to having sex, wiping your bottom from back to front after using the toilet, and pregnancy. Some of the most common symptoms of cystitis include:
- Burning, stinging, or pain when you pee
- Stomach pain
- Needing to pee more often than usual
- Dark, cloudy, or strong-smelling pee
- Feeling generally unwell, sick, or tired
How will Cystocalm help to ease my cystitis?
Cystocalm sachets contain an active ingredient called sodium citrate which can help to make your urine less acidic. By lowering the acidity of your urine, this helps to reduce symptoms like pain, burning or stinging.
Can I use these sachets if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Cystocalm sachets are not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women. If you think you have cystitis during these times you should ask your doctor or pharmacist to recommend a more suitable product for you.
Can I take this product if I’m taking other medication?
If you’re taking any other medication, including those obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Cystocalm. This especially applies if you are already taking:
- Lithium, which is used for manic depression
- Methenamine, which is used for urinary infections
How to use these sachets
Take one Cystocalm sachet 3 times a day for 2 days. Mix the contents of the sachet with 200ml of water and drink right away. Do not take more than 3 sachets a day.
