What is Nutrigen Inulin?

Nutrigen Inulin is a food supplement designed to help restore regularity in children over the age of 1. If your child is suffering with constipation, they may benefit from a high fibre food supplement, which is where Nutrigen Inulin really shines. This powdered drink is mixed fruit flavoured and contains 4 vitamins and 4 minerals on top of dietary fibre.

Why is my child constipated?

If your child doesn’t poo at least 3 times a week or finds that their poo is large or difficult to pass, they may be constipated. Constipation can happen for lots of different reasons, and it usually isn’t anything to worry about, but many parents can feel concerned if their child can’t poo for a while. Some of the most common causes of constipation in children include:

  • Not getting enough fibre in their diet
  • Not drinking enough
  • Problems during potty training
  • Feeling worried or anxious about something, for example, starting nursery, or getting a new little brother or sister
  • Not getting enough exercise
  • A side effect of some medications

How will Nutrigen Inulin help to keep my child’s bowel movements regular?

Nutrigen Inulin contains native chicory orafti inulin, which is a dietary fibre. Dietary fibres help to support your digestive system and healthy bowel movements. Fibre is an essential carbohydrate and increasing your fibre intake is often recommended for those who are suffering with constipation and are looking for a way to encourage regular bowel movements.

Is this product suitable for toddlers?

Nutrigen Inulin is suitable for children aged 1 year and over. It’s ideal for toddlers who need a little help to keep things regular, as the dietary fibres it contains help digestion and bowel movements.

What Can I do if My Baby or Child is Constipated?

Have you gone to change your baby and found that the little present they usually leave for you in their nappy just isn’t there?

Or maybe your child is finding it difficult to go to the toilet and tries to avoid pooping like the plague?

Your child could be suffering with constipation, and today we’re going to find out what that is, why it’s happening, and what you can do to help.

Curing Constipation

Don’t you just hate blockages? Whether it is in the nose and you struggle to breathe through it and smell, or whether it is a traffic jam caused by an accident that leaves you stuck on the road, they are a pain.

The same can be said about constipation, a simple blockage in the digestive system that can cause a lot of problems. To find the solution to constipation, first, you need to know the cause.

Is this product (Nutrigen Inulin Powder Drink) safe for pregnant women?

Research and studies reveal that chicory is not safe to consume in large amounts while expecting. However, if there is no substitute, then you can have a small amount of chicory in pregnancy. Chicory is a strong uterine stimulant and can trigger uterine contractions during pregnancy, thus endangering your health as well as your unborn baby. The consumption of a large amount of chicory can trigger menstruation during pregnancy and lead to abortion.

With chicory offering so many health benefits, you should avoid taking roasted chicory or drinking chicory tea during pregnancy
