Nuromol 200mg/500mg is a painkiller that is used for the temporary relief of mild to moderate pain.
How Nuromol 200mg/500mg works
Nuromol 200mg/500mg contains two active ingredients: paracetamol and ibuprofen.
Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing pain and swelling. It also lowers high temperatures.
Paracetamol is an analgesic which relieves pain and reduces fever.
Directions
Always take Nuromol 200mg/500mg exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Take 1 tablet with water and food, up to 3 times a day. You should leave 6 hours between doses.
If one tablet does not work, you may take 2 tablets, up to 3 times a day.
Do not take more than 6 tablets in any 24 hour period.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Nuromol 200mg/500mg may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:
- Stomach pain or discomfort
- Vomiting
- Nausea
- Diarrhoea
- A higher level of liver enzymes shown in blood tests

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Nuromol 200mg/500mg may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if:
- You have ever had bleeding in your stomach or small bowel
- You have a blood clotting disorder
- You suffer from heart, liver or kidney failure
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
- You have asthma or have suffered from asthma
- You are elderly
- You have kidney, heart, liver or bowel problems
- You have systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
- You have a tissue disease
- You have a gastrointestinal disorder or chronic inflammatory bowel disease
- You have diabetes
- You have high blood pressure
- You are a smoker
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this product.
This medication may be affected by other medicines such as:
- Corticosteroid tablets
- Antibiotics e.g. chloramphenicol or quinolones
- Anti-sickness medicine e.g. metoclopramide, domperidone
- Heart stimulants e.g. glycosides
- Medicines for high cholesterol e.g. cholestyramine
- Diuretics
- Medications to suppress the immune system e.g. methotrexate, cyclosporine, tacrolimus
- Medicines for mania or depression e.g. lithium or SSRIs
- Mifepristone (for pregnancy termination)
- HIV medicines e.g. zidovudine
Age restrictions
This medication is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Take special care if you are in the first 6 months of pregnancy. Do not take this medication in the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
Fertility risks
This medication may impair fertility in women. It is reversible once you stop taking the medication.
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not take after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
