This medication contains Ibuprofen and paracetamol and is used for relief from acute, mild to moderate pain such as period pain, headache, migraine, toothache, muscular and rheumatic pain, backache strains, sprains and sciatica.
Nuromol has an effective combination of two ingredients; Ibuprofen and Paracetamol that are used to treat pain.
Ibuprofen belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). These types of medications work by blocking the actions of an enzyme in the body known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX).
COX is involved in the production of prostaglandins, which is the chemical response to injuries. Prostaglandins cause pain, swelling and inflammation. Ibuprofen works to reduce these symptoms by reducing the production of prostaglandins.
Paracetamol is also used to reduce pain by also reducing the production prostaglandins but this time in the brain and spinal cord. These prostaglandins cause sensitive nerve endings, due to this when the area is stimulated it causes pain. Paracetamol is used to reduce this production of prostaglandins which is thought to increase our pain threshold. So even though the pain may remain, we do not feel it as much.
Do not use this medication if you are already taking another medication that contains paracetamol, if you are taking any other pain-relieving products that contain ibuprofen, high dose aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not use Nuromol if you allergic to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any other ingredients that make up this medication.
