What is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Mask?

The Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Mask is a clinically proven treatment for the face that reduces acne and spot breakouts on the skin and allows the skin to heal itself and improve the appearance and feel. The mask works by utilising red and blue LED lights that penetrate the skin and targets the bacteria that leads to acne. The red light reduces inflammation on the skin, while the blue light kills bacteria. The lights are UV-free. The Neutrogena Acne Mask has an eye shield and viewing slot which allows you to continue with your day while wearing the mask. The mask is powered by a unique solution, The Activator. The Activator allows for easy use and includes batteries inside of it, so you don’t need to stay near a plug socket when using. The Activator tells you how many uses of the mask you have remaining and will also turn the mask off after a 10-minute session automatically. This pack includes the mask plus a single Activator.

What are the causes of acne?

Acne breakouts happen because of skin. Tiny holes in the skin, which are known as hair follicles, become blocked. In the skin, there are glands known as sebaceous glands. These glands are attached to the hair follicles and are there to lubricate the hair in order to stop it drying out. This lubrication comes in the form of an oil known as sebum. Acne is caused by an excess of sebum being produced. This mixes with dead skin cells and blocks the follicle. Blocked follicles can cause both whiteheads and blackheads. Bacteria on the skin can also mix with the sebum and cause other types of spot that can be more serious. The sebaceous glands are sensitive to hormone changes, which is why an acne breakout is common during puberty, as well as during periods or pregnancy. If you have a family history of acne, then you are also more likely to get the condition yourself. Makeup and some types of medication can also cause acne, as can smoking.

Who is the Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Mask suitable for?

This mask is suitable to be used by anyone who is looking for cleaner skin and to get rid of mild acne. For children who want to treat acne, the mask should be fine to use, though speak to a professional if unsure. For more severe forms of acne, this mask should not be used and instead, you should contact a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist for advice.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this Neutrogena Mask?

This mask should not be used when pregnant or breastfeeding. This is because of the risks associated with using the mask when pregnant or breastfeeding have not been established.

How should Neutrogena Visibly Clear Light Therapy Acne Mask be used?

The Light Therapy Acne Mask can easily be used as part of your daily routine for cleansing the skin. Before using, wash the face with your favourite products and then dry the skin. Then, put on the mask and activate it. If it does not turn on, check the Activator is plugged in correctly. Once the mask has been turned on, wear it for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, it will turn off automatically. For the best results, use the mask every day. The Activator will tell you how many uses it has left (out of 30). Once it has run out of uses, take the batteries out of the Activator and dispose of them in accordance with the best practice for battery disposal.

Only had it less than a week so no opinion. Disappointed as I didn't realize you have to buy a new activator after 30 uses which are expensive. Had i known that I wouldn't of purchased this item. It is not made clear

So far so good. Ridiculous that you have to pay for a new activator every month though. Not good neutrogena.
