Cow & Gate Instant Carobel is ideal for those whose doctor or midwife has suggested using a thicker milk formula for their little one.
Why does my baby keep spitting up?
Spitting up, also known as reflux, is common in babies and will usually go away on its own before your baby is a year old. However, if your baby is in distress or the reflux has a specific, identifiable cause, your doctor or midwife might recommend that you use thicker milk formulas to help treat reflux.
How does Instant Carobel treat spitting up or reflux?
Instant Carobel works as a thickening agent, making it less likely that your infant will vomit or spit up their milk. It can be prepared differently for infants who are breastfed or bottle-fed, making it ideal for any parent whose midwife or doctor has recommended a thicker milk formula for their infant.
How to use Cow & Gate Instant Carobel.
Cow & Gate Instant Carobel can be added to your infant’s milk or juice or can be given as a thick gel before drinking. For more information on how to prepare Instant Carobel for breastfed or bottle-fed infants, be sure to read the patient information leaflet carefully.
When using Instant Carobel for a thickened bottle feed, be aware that the teat of the bottle will need a larger hole than for usual milk. A variable flow or split teat may be used.
Do I need a prescription for this product?
You do not need a prescription to buy Instant Carobel, but it should only be used when recommended by a doctor, midwife or healthcare professional.
When should Cow & Gate Instant Carobel not be used?
Cow & Gate Instant Carobel is not recommended for preterm or low birth weight infants. Instant Carobel should only be used under medical supervision. Make sure to always supervise infants during feeding. Instant Carobel should not be used as a sole source of nutrition. Always use the scoop provided. Do not use Instant Carobel if you or your child are allergic to any of the ingredients listed.

Can Cow & Gate Carobel be used with Nutramigen and instead of Infant gaviscon?
This product is not a substitute for Gaviscon and I would not advise using it with specialist milk without consulting your pediatrician or GP.
