E45 Dry Scalp Shampoo is a dermatologically tested shampoo for dry flaky scalps and dandruff. It has been specially formulated to gently cleanse your scalp whilst giving your hair life, body and shine. It helps to soothe dry, itchy scalps and is gentle enough to be used daily
What causes a dry scalp?
Dry scalp is usually a sign that the skin’s natural moisture defences are damaged. When our skin is healthy, the outer cell layers work together to keep moisture locked it stays sufficiently hydrated. An irritated scalp weakens this structure which allows moisture to escape and the skin on our scalp can dry out. People with naturally dry skin types can suffer from dry scalp, as well as people with certain hormonal conditions or who are taking certain medications (e.g. oral acne treatments).
Dry scalp vs Dandruff
Dry scalp shares symptoms with dandruff, including itchy flaky skin. However, there are some differences that can help you identify the problem. Dry scalp tends to cause the hair to become frizzy, dry and dull-looking as the scalp is not producing enough oil to lubricate it, whereas people with dandruff-related conditions can have hair that appears oily yet flaky at the same time.
Dandruff is not just a build-up of dry skin and it can be caused by many potential factors including the presence of a naturally occurring fungus on the surface of your scalp. If you suffer from a skin condition, your scalp can be extra sensitive to hair care products and can often feel tight and itchy. All skin naturally sheds as part of its regeneration process, but if you’re suffering from dandruff, these cells can build-up and produce flakes of dandruff, regardless of how often you wash your hair.

How does E45 Shampoo help to soothe a dry scalp?
This product is specially formulated to treat dry scalps and dandruff. Dandruff and dry scalp can be caused by a build-up of shedded cells which can happen when the skin has been stripped of its natural oils. E45 Shampoo works to gently cleanse the scalp whilst the added Provitamin B5 helps to care for and protect your hair. This formula is perfume-free and dermatologically tested, so it is suitable for dry skin, including seriously dry, itchy skin and scalp conditions.
How to use this product.
You can use E45 Dry Scalp Shampoo in the same way you would use your regular shampoo. Simply apply to wet hair and massage into the scalp. Rinse thoroughly and repeat as necessary. For best results, use regularly.
When should E45 Dry Scalp Shampoo NOT be used?
Do NOT use this product if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients (see ingredients tab for full list). Discontinue use if you experience any irritation or discomfort. If irritation is severe or persists, speak to your GP or a Chemist 4 U pharmacist immediately. This product is for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.
