What is Contour® Plus Blue?
Contour® Plus Blue is a blood glucose monitoring system designed to help you manage diabetes with ease and confidence. The meter is ready to test as soon as you take it out of the box and you can conveniently record your readings using the Contour® Diabetes app on your smartphone. Contour® Plus Blue will store your most recent 800 rest results and will display 7, 14, 30 and 90 averages. With almost 80 years of glucose management experience, you can be sure that your Contour® device will provide a trustworthy, reliable result that you can count on.
How to use Contour® Plus Blue
To use Contour® Plus Blue, start by inserting a Contour® Plus Test Strip into the meter to turn it on and apply blood after washing your hands. If the first blood sample is too small, a countdown will appear on the display - with Second-Chance® sampling, you can apply more blood to the same strip within 30 seconds if necessary. The results will display on the screen in a large, easy-to-read format and you can check the smartCOLOUR™ feature to see if your levels are within your target range.
What is smartCOLOUR™?
Results associated with a colour range indicator can assist people with diabetes in reaching their HbA1c target. The smartCOLOUR™ target range is a three-coloured indicator that will interpret your blood glucose levels and let you know if you’re on target:
Arrow on amber: test result is above your target range
Arrow on green: test result is within your target range
Arrow on red: test result is below your target range
What is blood glucose monitoring?
Blood glucose monitoring is a vital part of managing diabetes for people who take certain medication like insulin or sulphonylureas. It can help you to work out when you need to eat, take more medication or for when you want to exercise. Keeping your blood glucose levels on target will help you to stay healthy and prevent serious diabetes complications in the future.
