Beconase Hay Fever & Allergy Nasal Spray

Becodefence and Beconase are two different nasal sprays in the BecoAllergy range.

Beconase is a steroid spray used to ease 8 hay fever and allergy symptoms in adults for up to 24 hours.

Beconase is at its best when used every day, as its anti-inflammatory action will build.

On the other hand, Becodefence is a drug-free product used at the very first signs of hay fever symptoms to keep them from developing further.

Different hayfever tablets contain different active ingredients. Remedies containing Chlorphenamine (Piriton), Promethazine (Phenergan) or Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) can be sold over the counter when their sale is reviewed by a pharmacist which is why we ask customers a few questions before they are able to purchase them. Over the counter hayfever tablets are not inherently "stronger" than those available on general sale. Tablets containing low doses of Cetirizine and Loratadine can be bought without pharmaceutical review and you may find that these are more effective for your particular symptoms. There are a couple of ways to figure out what’s giving you the sneezes and the coughs, so let’s take a look at each condition and how you can tell them apart.

Beclometasone is not suitable for use by children or adolescents under the age of 18.

If your child is suffering from hay fever and you need a way to ease their symptoms, speak to your doctor or pharmacist so they can help you to find suitable medication for them.

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor before taking any medication, including beclometasone.

Some medications may not be safe for you or your baby at this time.

However, doctors often recommend that pregnant or breastfeeding women start to treat their hay fever or allergy symptoms with a nasal spray or eye drops as a first port of call, so make sure you ask a medical professional whether beclometasone is suitable for you and only use it under their recommendation.

Like all medications, beclometasone dipropionate can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them.

Some of the most common side effects of beclometasone include:

• Blurred vision
• Your nose or throat feeling dry, sore, or irritated
• An unpleasant taste or smell
• Nose bleeds

If you experience these or any other side effects while using beclometasone, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

If you’re using hay fever tablets, then you may be able to use a beclometasone nasal spray at the same time to help to ease your blocked nose and sneezing.
