What are Wind-Eze Soft Gel Capsules?

Wind-Eze Soft Gel Capsules are a treatment that is intended to be used to treat the effects of trapped wind, and the symptoms associated with it. The active ingredient contained in these capsules is simeticone. Simeticone is an anti-flatulence drug that works by gently dispersing the air in the stomach and intestine that is causing the trapped wind.

What causes trapped wind?

Trapped wind, a commonly felt condition felt in the digestive system, occurs when pressure builds up in the stomach or abdomen. This causes a number of symptoms, including bloating, burping as well as flatulence. The cause of trapped wind can be certain foods and drinks including:

  • High fibre foods
  • Fructose – a type of sugar that is hard to break down, found in fruit juice
  • Fizzy drinks
  • Fatty foods
  • Dairy products
  • Carbohydrates

You will often feel bloated, or suffer from stomach pain and cramps when suffering from trapped wind.

Who are these Wind-Eze capsules suitable for?

These capsules are suitable to be used by adults and children aged 12 and over. They should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the capsules or anyone who uses any mineral oil (paraffin) based laxatives. Anyone who uses any other type of medication should speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use these capsules?

Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should seek advice from a medical professional before using these capsules.

How should Wind-Eze Soft Gel Capsules be used?

Swallow a capsule using a glass of water at mealtimes or before bedtime. Do this 3-4 times a day. If your symptoms persist or get worse after using, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist for advice.

Are there any side effects?

There may be side effects as a result of an allergic reaction or using more than the recommended dose. If you notice a side effect, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record a side effect using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
