Vagisil Medicated Creme is an emulsion cream formulated to provide effective relief from the discomfort of minor itching and irritation of the skin just outside the vagina and around the anus.
The cream contains the active substance of lidocaine 2%.
How Vagisil Medicated Creme works
Vagisil Medicated Creme works by blocking the nerve signals that cause itching.
Directions
Always use exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Apply the cream to the affected area. Repeat the treatment as needed up to 3-4 times daily for 1 week.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Vagisil Medicated Creme may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. The use of vagisil may result in a skin reaction called sensitivity, the side effects include:
- Reddening of the skin
- Minor swelling
- Blistering
- Intensification of itch and.or irritation
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Vagisil Medicated Creme may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Using/taking other medicines
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking/using or have recently taken/used any other medicines.
Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for under 12’s.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
Do not take this product without consulting your doctor first.
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
