What causes our muscles to ache?
It’s a myth that you need to be some kind of athlete or gym addict to suffer with muscle pain. Aches and pains in our muscles can be caused by a variety of factors including:
- Overuse or strain on a muscle
- Taking part in a physical activity that you are not used to
- An injury such as a strain or sprain

Most muscle pain is mild and not a cause for concern. You can treat most types of mild muscle pain at home by resting the affected area, applying pain relief products or using hot/cold therapy. To avoid suffering with muscle pain in future, ensure that you stretch properly before any exercise and use relaxation techniques to reduce muscle tension.
