What is Regaine foam?

Regaine foam is a simple to use solution for hair thinning and hair loss in men. Simply apply Regaine foam to the affected area twice a day to help prevent hair loss and help your hair to grow back stronger.

 

Why am I losing my hair?

One of the most common causes of hair loss in men is male pattern baldness, which is hair loss that runs in your family. This is also known as hereditary hair loss. Over time, the hair follicles in your scalp begin to shrink and stop working, usually starting at the crown of your head or your hairline.

 

How does Regaine foam help to prevent hair loss?

Each 1g dose of Regaine foam contains 50mg of the active ingredient Minoxidil, which is thought to help hair loss by encouraging blood flow to the follicles in your scalp. This helps them to get bigger, slowly reversing shrinkage caused by hereditary hair loss, and helps your hair to grow back stronger.

 

How long will it take for this foam to work?

You may need to use Regaine Foam for 8 weeks before you see any new hair growth, this is not unusual as hair growth is a naturally slow process. When you do see new hair growth, it may be soft and downy, to begin with, but should eventually gain the same colour and texture of your normal hair. If you see no improvement after using this product for 16 weeks, stop use.

 

How long will this Regaine Triple Pack last for?

This triple pack gives you a 3 months' supply of Regaine. Every 73ml can last you for around a month of everyday use, so they pack will make sure that you can continue your hair growth journey for a whole 3 months before you'll need to buy more.

 

Can I use this product if I’m taking other medication?

Some medications should not be used at the same time as Regaine Foam as they can interact and cause unwanted effects. This includes creams, lotions, and ointments that are used to treat scalp conditions, such as:

• Dithranol – Used to treat psoriasis
• Tretinoin – Used to treat acne and other skin conditions
• Corticosteroids – A type on anti-inflammatory
• Petrolatum – A common ingredient in hair wax or gel

You should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you are using blood pressure medications known as vasodilators. The minoxidil in this product can interact with these medications, making their effects increase. If you are taking any other medications, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product to be sure that they are safe to use together.

 

Can I use my normal styling products when I’m using this foam?

You can use your regular styling products, such as hair wax, gel, or spray, while you are using Regaine. However, this product needs to be applied to a dry scalp, so you should use it before styling your hair as you usually would.

 

Can I dye my hair if I’m using this product?

You can dye your hair if you are using Regaine for Men, but you should ask the person who is dying your hair to be gentle. Using a wide-toothed comb can help you to avoid breakage or damage that can be caused to your hair through excessive pulling.

 

Can I drive after using this product?

Regaine for Men can cause dizziness or low blood pressure after you’ve used it. Do not attempt to drive or use tools or machinery until you are sure that you are not affected in this way.

 

How to use Regaine foam

Each time you use Regaine foam you should use 1g of product, which is the same as half a capful of foam. Make sure that your scalp is completely dry before each application. Apply 1g of Regaine foam to the affected area of the scalp with your fingertips, do this twice a day. Do not use more than 2g of foam every day and leave at least 12 hours between applications.

 

When should Regaine foam not be used?

Regaine foam is not suitable for use by those under the age of 18 or over the age of 49. Do not use Regaine for Men if you are female. The Regaine foam should not be used if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Regaine foam if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Minoxidil or any of the other listed ingredients. You should not use Regaine foam if you have:

• Hair loss caused by drug treatment
• Total baldness or complete loss of all body hair
• Sudden or unexpected hair loss, or hair loss where the cause is unknown
• Any condition which affects your scalp, including sunburn and psoriasis
• A shaved scalp
• A dressing or bandage of any kind on your scalp
• High blood pressure

Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you:

• Are unsure whether your scalp is normal and healthy
• Suffer from heart disease, including abnormal heart rate or rhythms, angina, chest pains, circulation disorders

 

Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medication, Regaine Foam can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects, stop use and seek medical help immediately:

• Chest pain
• Swelling of the lips, face, tongue, mouth, or throat, which may cause difficulty breathing or swallowing
• Allergic reactions, e.g. swollen face, skin redness, itching, throat tightness
• Low blood pressure
• Fast heartbeat, increased awareness of heartbeat (palpitations)
• Faintness, dizziness
• Swollen hands or feet, shortness of breath
• Sudden unexplained weight gain
• Persistent local redness or rash

Other common side effects of this product include:

• Headache
• Itching, dermatitis
• Unwanted hair growth that is not on the scalp (including facial hair in women). Always wash your hands after using this product and rinse thoroughly if you get this foam anywhere other than the scalp
• Nausea
• Changes of hair texture

How to store this product

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place that is under 25 degrees C. Store in the original packaging, do not use this product if the expiry date printed on the base of the can has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children. This product is an extremely flammable aerosol. Pressurised container may burst if heated. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other sources of ignition. No smoking. Do not spray near an open flame or other ignition sources.
