Ovex Family Pack Of 4 Threadworm Treatment

Checked By

What is Ovex Family Pack?

Ovex Family Pack is a treatment that works to provide relief for threadworm infection, also known as pinworm. The active ingredient in this treatment is mebendazole, which is known as an antihelmintic medicine. Anthelmintics expel worm infections in the body.

What causes a threadworm infection?

Threadworms in the gut are an infection that can spread easily. Threadworm infections are likely to be caused by spreading. They can spread by swallowing or by touching them on surfaces. Eggs that are swallowed take around 2 weeks to hatch. The threadworms lay eggs around the anus, and any attempted scratched can latch the eggs onto the fingers. This can cause spread. Threadworms themselves are small and white and eggs are so small that they cannot be seen. Threadworms can spread through clothing or unwashed vegetables.

Who is this treatment suitable?

This Ovex treatment is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 2 and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the tablets. Anyone who is currently using any medication for any other condition should speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this treatment.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use these tablets?

These tablets should not be used by anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. Instead, speak to a medical professional for advice.

How should Ovex Family Pack be used?

Only one tablet should be taken when using. A tablet can be swallowed whole or chewed. It can also be crushed for children who may struggle to swallow. If symptoms do not disappear after a few days of taking a tablet, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist for advice.

Are there any side effects?

Like with many types of medication, there is a chance of side effects. Potential side effects include:

  • Allergic reaction including the swelling of the face of a rash
  • Stomach pain
  • Diarrhoea
  • Wind
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting

If you notice any side effect, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Why do I need to answer questions to buy this product?

You do not need a prescription for Ovex Family Pack, however, you will be asked to complete a short medical questionnaire by your Chemist 4 U pharmacist before we can take your order. This includes some simple questions that all pharmacies legally are required to ask before supplying this kind of product. This helps our pharmacy team to be sure that Ovex is the best choice for you.
