What is Mycota Athlete's Foot Cream?

Mycota Cream is an athlete’s foot treatment that provides instant relief from itching and discomfort caused by the infection. This cream contains two active ingredients, undecylenic acid and zinc undecylenate, both enriched with antifungal and antibacterial properties. It works by killing the fungi responsible for athlete’s foot and preventing reinfection.

How to use this product

Always use Mycota Athlete’s Foot Cream exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. To use, apply Mycota Cream once in the morning and once in the evening. Before applying this product, ensure that the feet are clean and dry before massaging the cream into the affected areas of the feet, paying particular attention to inbetween the toes. Continue using the cream to treat the affected foot for one week after the symptoms have cleared. Wear clean socks each day.

What is athlete’s foot?

Athlete’s foot, also known as tinea pedis, is a fungal infection that can be easily treated with antifungal creams, powders or sprays. It will typically begin between the toes in the form of an itchy, scaly rash. Athlete’s foot is infectious and is more likely to develop in people with sweaty feet who wear tightly fitted shoes.

How do you prevent athlete’s foot?

Despite the name, anyone can get athlete’s foot - not just athletes. To prevent yourself from getting athlete’s foot, wear protective footwear like shower shoes or flip-flops when walking around a pool, gym, public shower, or locker areas as the fungus which causes athlete’s foot may be on the floor. It’s important to keep your feet dry as the fungus is attracted to damp, warm areas like sweaty shoes - you may wish to alternate shoes each day to give them time to air and dry properly.

When should this product not be used?

Mycota Athlete’s Foot Cream may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this cream if you are allergic to undecylenic acid or zinc undecylenate or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not use this cream on broken skin. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
