What are Hylo-Forte Eye Drops?

Hylo-Forte eye drops are soothing eye drops for dry eyes. They help to hydrate your eyes, easing itching and irritation quickly and easily. These eye drops are free from preservatives and phosphate and can be used with all contact lenses. They stay sterile for 6 months after opening, so you won’t have to worry about wasting eye drops if you don’t need to use them all the time.

Why do I have dry eyes?

Most people experience dry eyes at one point or another, leaving you with eyes that feel sore, gritty, and itchy, and look red and irritated. Your dry eyes will usually get better by themselves, but if you experience dry eyes regularly then you may want to use eye drops to hydrate your irritated eyes. Some of the most common reasons why you may experience dry eyes include:

  • Dehydration
  • Wearing contact lenses
  • Looking at screens for a long time
  • Being in an air-conditioned or heated environment
  • Hot, dry, dusty, windy, or cold weather
  • Being over the age of 50
  • Smoking
  • Drinking alcohol
  • Some medications, e.g. antidepressants, blood pressure medications
  • Some medical conditions, e.g. lupus, Sjogren’s syndrome, blepharitis

How will Hylo-Forte sodium hyaluronate eye drops help to hydrate my dry eyes?

Hylo-Forte eye drops contain an active ingredient called sodium hyaluronate to soothe your dry eyes. They work by working in a similar way to your natural tears, replacing the tears that usually hydrate your eyes and helping to ease irritation in the process. The eye drops replenish your tear film, protecting and lubricating your eye and offering quick relief.

What is the difference between Hylo-Tear and Hylo-Forte eye drops?

Hylo-Tear and Hylo-Forte eye drops are very similar, as they use the same active ingredient and soothe your dry eyes in the same way. The difference between the two is that Hylo-Tear eye drops contain a 0.1% solution of sodium hyaluronate, where Hylo-Forte eye drops use a 0.2% solution, making them stronger. This means that Hylo-Tear eye drops are better for mild to moderate cases of dry eyes and Hylo-Forte eye drops are better for severe or persistent cases.

Can I use these eye drops if I wear contact lenses?

Hylo-Forte eye drops can be used with all kinds of contact lenses and you don’t need to remove your contacts before using these drops. However, if you’re ever concerned about using eye drops with your contact lenses you should ask your optometrist for advice.

Can I drive after using this product?

You will usually be able to drive after using Hylo-Forte eye drops. However, using eye drops of any kind can make your vision temporarily blurry or affect it in other ways. If this happens to you, do not attempt to drive or use any tools or machinery until the effect has passed and you’re sure that you’re safe to do so.

How to use these eye drops

Remove the cap and place 2 fingers on the base of the bottle and your thumb on its top, next to the dropper. Use your other hand to gently pull down your lower eyelid and tilt your head back. Position the dropper over your eye and press on the base of the bottle to release one drop of Hylo-Forte eye drops into your eye. Repeat the process in your other eye. For best results, use one drop in each eye up to 3 times a day, as needed.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use Hylo-Forte eye drops if you are allergic to sodium hyaluronate or any of the other listed ingredients. If you experience any irritation or unwanted side effects after using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist if necessary. These eye drops are for adults, if your child is suffering from dry eyes you should speak to your doctor, pharmacist, or optometrist for more information and treatment recommendations. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor before using these or any other medications. If you are taking any other medication, including herbal remedies or medicines obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.
