What is Dettol Antiseptic Wash Wound Spray?

Dettol Antiseptic Wash is an essential product for your first aid kit or medicine cupboard. This gentle, cleansing formula washes out wounds to clear them of dirt, debris and harmful bacteria to keep you and your loved ones safe from infection. Dettol Antiseptic Wash features a convenient no-touch application and is suitable for cuts, grazes, minor wounds, skin piercings, insect bites, stings, small burns, scalds and blisters.

How to use this product

Spray onto the wound to wash away any dirt and debris. The wound should be wet, but if necessary, use a clean tissue or cotton wool to soak up the excess liquid. Repeat if necessary.

What’s the difference between antiseptic and antibacterial?

The two sound similar, but they’re quite different. Antibacterial products can effectively kill or slow down the growth of bacteria, but not viruses. Whereas antiseptics can prevent viruses, bacteria and fungi from growing.

What’s the difference between antiseptic and antibiotic?

Antiseptics slow down the growth of bacteria, helping to prevent any further infection. They’re great for cleaning the skin, like the prep before an injection. Although they can kill bacteria, antiseptics’ main strength is preventing its growth. Antibiotics, however, kill the bacteria completely, but they shouldn’t be relied on too much as you can become resistant to them.
