What is Cold Sore Cream Aciclovir 5% Cream?
This cold sore cream is used as an antiviral agent that for treating cold sores. It can be used to prevent a cold sore at the first signs, tingling and itching, or when it has already appeared, to aid the healing process.
Who is this cream suitable for?
It is suitable for adults and children suffering from the effects of a cold sore. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in the cream. These are:
- Aciclovir
- Stearoylmacrogolglycerides
- Dimethicone
- Cetyl alcohol
- Liquid paraffin
- White soft paraffin
- Propyleneglycol
- Purified water
Do not use this cream for anything else other than a cold sore.
Can this cold sore cream be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your doctor before using this cream.
Can this cold sore cream be used with other medication?
There is no evidence of any adverse effects but if you are unsure, consult your doctor.
How do I use this cold sore cream?
To use this cream effectively, apply it to the affected area 5 times a day, continue this for 4 days. If the cold sore has not fully healed, continue using for up to 10 days. If it has not healed in that time, contact your doctor.
Are there any side effects?
Any side effect will most likely be because of an allergic reaction. Reactions such as a skin rash, itching, or swelling in the face. If you notice a side effect, contact your doctor as soon as possible.
