What is Cialis Together?

Cialis Together is the over-the-counter version of Cialis. This means you don’t need a prescription to buy Cialis Together and can start treating your erectile dysfunction immediately.

How does Cialis Together work?

Cialis Together tablets contain the active ingredient tadalafil, which belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, which enables increased blood flow, ultimately resulting in an erection. After taking a tablet, Cialis Together can start working within 30 minutes.

It’s important to note, however, that taking Cialis Together tablets alone will not produce an erection. You’ll need to be sexually aroused for the treatment to work.

How long does Cialis Together last?

Cialis Together stays in your system for up to 36 hours. In comparison, Viagra lasts for 4-6 hours.

This means that, when taking Cialis Together, you don’t need to be quite as strict with planning when you’re going to have sex. Instead, after popping a pill, you’ve got 36 hours for the mood to take you.

How effective is Cialis Together?

A study found that 81% of men taking tadalafil, the active ingredient in Cialis Together, saw their erections improve while on the treatment.

What’s the difference between Cialis and Cialis Together?

While they both contain the same active ingredient, Cialis requires a prescription, and Cialis Together doesn’t.

This means you could potentially get an NHS prescription for Cialis but can’t for Cialis Together.

There’s also a range of Cialis dosages available, from 2.5mg up to 20mg, whereas Cialis Together is only available as a 10mg tablet.

How to take Cialis Together

When taking Cialis Together:

  1. Take at least 30 minutes before you want to have sex (though it’ll work for up to 36 hours)
  1. Swallow the tablet whole, with water.
  1. Only take one tablet a day.

Make sure not to take Cialis Together with grapefruit, or grapefruit juice. This is because there is a food-drug interaction between grapefruit and tadalafil that causes there to be more of the treatment in your blood stream, increasing the risk of side effects.

Side effects of Cialis Together

Common side effects you may experience when taking Cialis Together include:

  • headaches
  • back pain
  • muscle aches
  • pain in your arms or legs
  • flushing in your face
  • congestion (a blocked nose)
  • indigestion

For more information, please refer to the patient information leaflet included with your medication, or read our guide to tadalafil side effects

If you experience any side effects not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

When to avoid Cialis Together

If you’re considering Cialis Together tablets, you should first make sure it’s the right option for treating your erectile dysfunction.

Cialis Together is only available for people over the age of 18, and shouldn’t be used by women.

You should speak to your GP or Chemist4U clinician before taking Cialis Together if you:

  • are allergic to tadalafil or any of the other listed ingredients, including lactose
  • take any medicines called nitrates or nitric oxide donors
  • take amyl nitrite also known as “poppers” as recreational drugs
  • have been advised by your doctor to avoid sexual activity because of a problem with your heart or blood vessels, such as recent heart attack (within the last 90 days) or stroke (within the last 6 months), unstable angina or severe cardiac failure
  • have low blood pressure or uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • have ever had loss of vision because of non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), a condition described as “stroke of the eye”
  • take riociguat or other medicines belonging to a group called guanylate cyclase stimulators
  • have a deformity of your penis (such as angulation, cavernosal fibrosis or Peyronie’s disease)

Buy Cialis Together online

Cialis Together prices start at £4.18 per tablet, with next-day delivery available with Chemist4U.

Alternatives to Cialis Together

Cialis Together isn’t your only option when it comes to treating erectile dysfunction. If it’s not for you, you could consider:

  • a different dose of prescription Cialis
  • generic sildenafil tablets
  • Viagra Connect

You may also want to look into some lifestyle changes, like reducing the amount you drink (alcohol can cause erectile dysfunction) or eating a healthier diet.

What's the difference between Cialis Together and Viagra Connect?

Both Cialis Together and Viagra Connect are erectile dysfunction pills available over the counter, rather than by prescription.

Cialis Together comes as a 10mg tablet and has the active ingredient tadalafil. In comparison, Viagra Connect is a 50mg tablet, with sildenafil as the active ingredient. Due to this, there are some differences between Cialis and Viagra side effects

While both take around 30 minutes to work, Cialis Together lasts much longer than Viagra Connect. This means you don’t have to plan as far ahead with Cialis Together.
