What is Cetraben Cream?

Cetraben Cream is an emollient cream which can be used on eczema or dry skin to help to lock moisture into the skin. It’s perfect for everyday use or to soothe your skin when you have an eczema flare-up, protecting and hydrating your dry skin as it heals. It absorbs into the skin easily and can be used to protect your dry skin as you bathe, helping to keep it from drying out. Cetraben Cream is vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.

What is eczema?

Eczema is a dry skin condition that many people suffer from, and it’s especially common in children. It is associated with dry skin, but can also make your skin feel sore, itchy, and inflamed and can cause redness and cracks in the skin. It can occur all over the body, flaring up in small patches in some sufferers and being much more widely spread in others. Some of the most common places where people experience eczema include:

  • Hands
  • Ankles
  • In skin folds, such as the insides of your elbows or the backs of your knees
  • Face and scalp, especially in children

How does Cetraben Cream help to relieve eczema?

Cetraben Cream is an emollient which means it helps to ease eczema and other dry skin conditions by forming a protective layer over the skin. This layer helps to keep moisture locked into the skin, keeping it from drying out further. It also helps to keep out irritants, like harsh soaps or detergents, which can aggravate sensitive skin, giving your skin the protection it needs as it heals.

Can this emollient cream be used for psoriasis?

Psoriasis is another dry skin condition that is like eczema in many ways but can cause silver, scaly patches of dry skin. When doctors diagnose psoriasis, they usually recommend emollients like Cetraben Cream as one of the first treatments for the condition. Sometimes emollients are used to moisturise the skin before applying a topical treatment if this is how you plan to use this product make sure to wait at least 30 minutes between applying Cetraben and your topical treatment for best results.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant?

Cetraben Cream is unlikely to cause any problems if you use it during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. However, you should speak to your doctor before using this or any other medication at these times, to be sure that the product is safe for both you and your child.

How to use this product

Wash and dry your hands before using this product. Apply Cetraben Cream to the affected area as often as you need to, making sure that the area is well covered. Gently rub the cream into the skin following the direction of hair growth, just as you would when stroking a dog or a cat. Avoid rubbing this product in vigorously, as this could make your skin feel itchy and irritated. You can apply this product before and after bathing to protect your skin from drying out further if you need to but be aware that this product can make surfaces slippery and be careful not to slip in the bath or shower.

When should this emollient not be used?

Do not use Cetraben Cream if you are allergic to light liquid paraffin, white soft paraffin, or any of the other listed ingredients. You should only use this product to treat children under 1 year old if you have been told to do so by your doctor.
