What are Celluvisc eye drops?

Celluvisc is soothing eye drops which help to ease symptoms of dry eyes. They’re perfect for those who use contact lenses and suffer from dry eyes when they wear their lenses all day. These eye drops hydrate your eyes, relieving symptoms like soreness and burning quickly and easily.

What causes dry eyes?

Dry eyes can happen for lots of different reasons, including wearing contact lenses, spending too much time looking at screens, or simply being over 50. You may also experience dry eyes because you take certain medications or due to certain medical conditions. Other common causes of dry eyes include smoking, drinking, and spending time in dry, dusty, heated or air-conditioned environments.

How will Celluvisc eye drops help to soothe my dry eyes?

Celluvisc eye drops contain the active ingredient carmellose sodium, which works as a lubricant. It helps to soothe dry eyes by keeping your eyes wet, providing much-needed hydration and lubrication and easing soreness and irritation.

Can I drive after using this product?

When you’ve used Celluvisc eye drops, you may experience temporarily blurred vision. Do not attempt to drive or use tools or machinery unless you are sure that you are not affected in this way.

Can I use these drops if I’m taking other medication?

If you’re using any other medication, including those you obtained without a prescription, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product. Some medications may not be suitable to use together, and a medical professional may need to recommend a more suitable product. If your doctor tells you that this medication is safe to use and you are also using other eye drops, leave at least 15 minutes after using your other eye drops before using Celluvisc.

Can I use this product if I’m wearing contact lenses?

Celluvisc eye drops can be used if you wear contact lenses. You don’t need to remove your contact lenses before using these eye drops, but if you’re ever unsure, speak to your doctor, pharmacist, or optician before using this product.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this or any other medication. Celluvisc should be safe to use at this time, but always remember to check with a medical professional first.

How to use Celluvisc eye drops

Before using this product, wash and dry your hands thoroughly. The typical dose of this product is 1 – 2 drops in each affected eye up to 4 times a day, as necessary, but you should always use this product as your doctor or pharmacist recommends.

  • Tear one container away from the strip and twist off the tip
  • Use one hand to gently pull down the lower eyelid, forming a pocket
  • Squeeze the container to deposit one drop into the eye, blink a few times to disperse the drops over the eye
  • Repeat in the other eye if necessary

When should this product not be used?

Do not use Celluvisc if you are allergic to carmellose sodium or any of the other listed ingredients. If you experience any irritation, changes in your vision, or feel like your condition is getting worse, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away.
