Calpol Cagel Teething Gel 5+ Months helps relieve pain and discomfort associated with teething when other non-medicinal methods cannot offer relief.
It quickly soothes your baby’s sore gums, providing rapid relief from pain.
How Calpol Cagel Teething Gel works
Calpol Cagel Teething Gel contains lidocaine hydrochloride and cetylpyridinium chloride.
Lidocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic that numbs the sensation of pain.
Cetylpridinum chloride is an antiseptic that kills bacteria and helps to prevent infection.
Directions
Always use Calpol Cagel Teething Gel exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Apply a pea-sized amount of gel to a clean fingertip and spread gently onto your baby’s gum.
If necessary, repeat the dose after 3 hours.
Do not use this product more than 6 times in 24 hours.
Do not use it for more than 7 days during each teething episode.
If your child vomits, spits or swallows the gel, do not reapply it. You must wait 3 hours before using it again.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Calpol Cagel Teething Gel may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. There are no known reported common side effects of this product.
If you or your child experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Calpol Cagel Teething Gel may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product on your child if they are allergic to any of the ingredients.
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before using this medicine if your child has an intolerance to some sugars.
Do not use this product at the same time as any other products that contain lidocaine.
Using/taking other medicines
If your child is taking or has recently taken any medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
Age restrictions
This product is unsuitable for children under 5 months old.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
