What are Calcichew D3 Forte Chewable Tablets?

Calcichew D3 Forte Chewable Tablets contain both calcium and vitamin D which are both vital for bone formation. They can be used to treat and prevent calcium and vitamin D deficiencies, which may occur if you don’t receive enough through your diet and lifestyle or if your body requires an increased amount. The tablets can be chewed so are easy to administer for those who are unable to swallow traditional tablets and have a pleasant lemon flavour. If you’re looking for an easy way to incorporate more calcium vitamin D into your diet, try Calcichew D3 Forte Chewable Tablets.

Why are calcium and vitamin D important?

Calcium and Vitamin D are needed for the development of strong bones, as well as other vital bodily functions. Calcium is required in order for our heart, muscles and nerves to function properly, as well as enabling our blood to clot when required. If we receive an insufficient amount of calcium, this can lead to conditions such as osteoporosis. Our bodies require vitamin D in order to absorb calcium. If our bodies do not receive enough vitamin D, this can lead to insufficient calcium absorption which causes the body to take calcium from its stores in the skeleton. This weakens our bones and prevents the formation of new, strong bones.

How can you prevent a calcium or vitamin D deficiency?

We tend to receive calcium from our diet through consuming dairy products, such as milk and cheese, eating leafy vegetables such as spinach and kale and products that are made with fortified flour, such as bread. We can lose calcium through consuming high levels of protein and salt, so it is important to not eat products that contain a lot of protein or salt excessively. Those with a lactose intolerance can also have an inadequate calcium intake so should seek dairy alternatives that include calcium, such as soya milk with added calcium or ensure they are eating foods that are rich in calcium such as leafy greens and certain fish like sardines, where the bones are consumed. We receive most of our vitamin D from sunlight. However if you live in a country that doesn’t receive a lot of sunlight or you have mobility issues or a health condition that causes you to stay inside for long periods of time, you may develop a vitamin D deficiency. Deficiencies in both vitamin D and calcium can be treated and prevented by ensuring we include enough food in our diets that contain calcium and exercising outside. If it isn’t possible to receive sufficient amounts of calcium or vitamin D through your diet and lifestyle alone, then taking supplements may be helpful. Speak to your doctor or a Chemist4U pharmacist to see if adding a new supplement to your diet would be beneficial for you.

How can Calcichew help to treat and prevent calcium and vitamin D deficiencies?

Each tablet contains the equivalent of 500mg of Calcium and 10 micrograms of vitamin D3. They can be taken to treat and prevent calcium and vitamin D deficiencies. The tablets are suitable for those who are unable or do not like swallowing traditional tablets as they are chewable and the delicious lemon flavour makes them easy to administer.
