What is Xailin Gel?

Xailin Gel is the ideal treatment for dry eyes, and it can also be used to lubricate and protect the eyes against certain eye conditions, too. It provides instant soothing and cooling relief to your dry eye symptoms, like soreness, irritation and gritty sensations.

How to use this product

Always use Xailin Gel exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. Use 2-4 times per day as needed or as directed. No dosage alteration is needed in children. Before opening a new tube of Xailin Gel, ensure that the safety strip is unbroken.

To use, tear off the safety strip to break the seal and wash and dry your hands. Remove the cap. If you are a contact lens wearer, remove your lenses. Then tilt your head back and look up. Gently pull down your lower eyelid and squeeze one drop of Xailin Gel into the gap between your eye and eyelid. Blink a few times, then carefully wipe any excess with a tissue. Repeat in the other eye if required.

What causes dry eyes?

There are lots of different reasons why you might be suffering from dry eyes - although they might be irritating, they’re usually nothing to be concerned about. You’ll be more likely to develop dry eyes if you’re over 50, wear contact lenses, spend a long time looking at screens, if you spend time in air conditioned or windy, cold dry and dusty environments; take certain medicines, and smoke or drink excessively.

How does Xailin Gel treat dry eyes?

Xailin Gel contains the active ingredients carbomer 0.2%, sodium perborate and excipients, and when applied to the eye, it turns into water and oxygen, minimising irritation and dryness, leaving your eyes feeling cooled and soothed.

Can Xailin Gel be used on lens wearers?

Yes, Xailin Gel can be used if you wear contact lenses. However, you must first remove your contact lenses before using the gel.

Is Xailin Gel suitable for children?

Yes, Xailin Gel is suitable to be used on children, and the dose does not need to be altered. If you’re unsure whether this product is suitable for your child, always speak to your Chemist4U pharmacist or GP for advice first.

Is Xailin Gel suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new product.

When should this product not be used?

Xailin Gel may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Do not use it if the safety strip is broken. Do not touch the tip of the tube with your eye or any other surface. Do not share this product with any other person. External ocular use only, do not swallow.

Are there any side effects?

Like all products, Xailin Gel may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.

Xailin Gel can cause a mild burning sensation and blurry vision after use. You must not drive or use heavy machinery until your vision is clear.

After suffereing from extreme dry eye problems which was causing my vision to go blurry especially at night, I'd found there and I love them. This is what I will be buying from now on. They sooth my eyes as well as stopping them being dry and I no longer have my eyes going blurry at night
