Buy Vydura
Vydura is a medicine that’s used to treat and prevent migraines. It contains the active ingredient rimegepant, that stops the activity of a substance in the body called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). Those who suffer from migraines may have increased levels of CGRP.
Vydura is effective in stopping an active migraine attack, and it can also decrease the number of migraine attacks that occur when taken preventively. Vydura comes in an easy-to-take wafer form (oral lyophilisate), where it dissolves on or underneath your tongue. It’s the ideal migraine medication if you struggle to take tablets or capsules.
How Vydura works
Vydura contains the active ingredient, rimegepant, that stops the activity of a substance in the body called calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP). People with migraines may have increased levels of CGRP. Rimegepant attaches to the receptor for CGRP, reducing the ability of CGRP to also attach to the receptor. This reduces the activity of CGRP and has two effects: it can stop an active migraine attack, and it can decrease the number of migraine attacks that occur when taken preventively.
Directions
Always take Vydura exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. To prevent a migraine attack, the recommended dose is 1 wafer (75 mg rimegepant) every other day. To treat an active migraine, the recommended dose is 1 wafer (75 mg rimegepant) as needed, but do not take more than once daily. The maximum daily dose is 1 wafer (75 mg rimegepant) per day.
Vydura is for oral use. The wafer can be taken with or without food. To take, first ensure that your hands are dry. Peel back the foil covering of one blister and gently remove the wafer. Do not push the wafer through the foil. As soon as the blister is opened, remove the wafer and place it on or under the tongue, where it will dissolve. Do not store the wafer outside the blister for future use.
What is a migraine?
A migraine is when you have a severe throbbing pain on one side of the head, but some people may find that the pain affects the area behind the eyes, the back of the head and the neck, too. Symptoms like nausea, vomiting and an increased sensitivity to light or sound are typically signs that your headache is a migraine.
Migraines are a relatively common health condition in the UK and they usually begin in early adulthood. They affect around 1 in 5 women and around 1 in every 15 men.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Vydura may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. The only known common side effect is nausea. If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. Hypersensitivity reactions can occur days after taking this medication.
