Viscotears Single Dose Units For Dry Eye Treatment contains carbomer, which is referred to as ‘artificial tears’. It treats dryness and irritation by lubricating the eyes.
Directions
Always use Viscotears Single Dose Units For Dry Eye Treatment exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Remove contact lenses before using this product. You must wait at least 15 minutes after application before putting them back in.
Tilt your head backwards and pull down your lower eyelid with one hand. Look upwards and insert one drop into your eye. Blink to spread the liquid, and then repeat in the other eye.
Side effects
Viscotears Single Dose Units For Dry Eye Treatment may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include:
- Blurred vision
- Eyelid discomfort
- Irritation
- Crusting, swelling and pain
- Itchy eyes
- Redness
- Increased tear production

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Viscotears Single Dose Units For Dry Eye Treatment may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have problems with your eyes other than dryness or crusting.
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for anyone under 16 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new product.
Driving and operating machinery
This product may cause temporary blurred vision. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.
Storage information
Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
