Uniroid Suppositories is a treatment that provides short-term relief from pain and irritation associated with piles.
How Uniroid Suppositories work
Uniroid Suppositories contain hydrocortisone and cinchocaine hydrochloride.
Hydrocortisone soothes and relieves irritation and inflammation of the skin.
Cinchocaine hydrochloride is a local anaesthetic that works by providing pain relief.
Directions
Always use Uniroid Suppositories exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Wash your hands before and after use. Avoid excessive handling of the suppository as it is designed to melt at body temperature.
Tear one wrapped suppository from the strip while holding it with the tip facing upwards and peel away the foil from both sides.
Insert the suppository as far as possible into the back passage.
You should use this product twice daily, in the morning and evening and after every bowel movement.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Uniroid Suppositories may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. There are no known reported common side effects of this product.
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
If you experience any of the following side effects, stop using this medication straight away and seek medical advice:
- Blurred vision or other visual disturbances
- Itching, pain or a rash around the back passage
- Irritation around the back passage
Warnings
Uniroid Suppositories may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if:
- You have tuberculosis
- You have any kind of skin infection
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before using this product.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking HIV medicines such as cobicistat.
Age restrictions
Unfortunately, we cannot prescribe this product from our clinic to anyone under 18 years old or anyone over the age of 75.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Do not use this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless you have been advised to do so by your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
