Buy SyreniRing
SyreniRing is a vaginal contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy.
Like other hormonal contraceptives, it will not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). To prevent STDs and also pregnancy, you should use a barrier method of contraception, such as a condom.
How SyreniRing works
SyreniRing contains a small amount of the female sex hormones etonogestrel and ethinylestradiol. The ring slowly releases these hormones into the bloodstream, preventing the release of an egg cell from the ovaries.
It works the same way as a combined contraceptive pill; however, instead of taking a pill daily, the ring is used for 3 weeks at a time.
Directions
Always use SyreniRing exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
You can insert and remove SyreniRing yourself.
Before inserting the ring, check that it is still in date. You must wash your hands before inserting or removing the ring. Choose a comfortable position and remove the ring from its sachet.
Hold the ring between your thumb and index finger, press the opposite sides together and insert the ring inside your vagina. You should not be able to feel the ring when it is in place. If you feel uncomfortable, push the ring slightly further inside your vagina. The position of the ring is not important.
After 3 weeks, you should remove the ring from the vagina. Hook your index finger under the front rim of the ring and pull it out.
This product may pose a risk to the environment. You can dispose of it with your regular household waste or return it to the pharmacy for disposal. However, it must be placed in the sachet and closed properly. Do not flush SyreniRing down the toilet. Do not throw away any unused or out-of-date rings via household waste. You must ask your pharmacist how to dispose of unused rings or rings no longer required. Taking these measures will help to protect the environment.
Do not replace the ring for a week after it is removed. Once the ring is removed, you can expect to experience bleeding. After 1 week, you can insert a new ring, even if you are still bleeding.
If you forget to insert a new ring after a week, please refer to the patient information leaflet for advice. You must also refer to the patient information leaflet if the ring is expelled from the vagina or if it breaks.
When you can start using SyreniRing
If you have not used hormonal contraception in the last month
Insert the ring on the first day of your period; you will be protected immediately. You can also start using the ring on days 2-5 of your period; however, additional barrier contraception (condom) must be used for the first 7 days.
You have used a combined pill during the last month
You should start using SyreniRing the day after the tablet-free period of your current pill. If your pill contains inactive tablets, you can start using the ring the day after you have completed your inactive tablets.
You have used a transdermal patch in the last month
Start using SyreniRing the day after your patch-free break. If you have used the patch consistently and correctly, you can stop using the patch any day and start using the ring.
You have used a progestogen-only pill (POP) during the last month
You can stop taking the POP any day and start using SyreniRing. You should insert it at the same time you would usually take your pill. You must also use barrier contraception (condom) for the first 7 days.
You have used an injectable or implant or a progestogen-releasing intrauterine device (IUD) during the last month
You can start using SyreniRing when your next injection is due or on the day that your implant or IUD is removed. You must also use a barrier method of contraception (condom) for the first 7 days.
After having a baby
If you have just given birth, your doctor might tell you to wait until your first period before you start using SyreniRing. If you are breastfeeding, you must inform your doctor.
After a miscarriage or abortion
Your doctor will advise you when you can start using SyreniRing.
