What is Piriteze Allergy Syrup?

Piriteze Allergy Syrup is an effective method of treatment for a number of allergies, including hay fever, dust mite, pet, skin, and mould allergies. The active ingredient in this syrup is cetirizine hydrochloride. This is an antihistamine that works by blocking the histamines produced in white blood cells which are the cause of symptoms associated with allergies.

How does an antihistamine work?

An antihistamine works by stopping histamines that are produced by the body. A histamine is produced when the body detects an infection. However, allergies are formed because the body thinks that something harmful has come into contact with the body. This causes the symptoms that are associated with the allergy. Using an antihistamine before coming into contact with what causes the allergic reaction will reduce the symptoms that appear.

Who is Piriteze Allergy Syrup suitable for?

Piriteze Allergy Syrup is suitable to be taken by children and adults aged 6 and over. This syrup is not suitable to take if you have severe kidney problems or are allergic to cetirizine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients in Piriteze Allergy Syrup.

If you are taking other medication, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, then contact your doctor to see if this medication is suitable for you.

How much Piriteze syrup should I be taking?

For an adult and children aged 12 and over, the recommended amount to take is two 5ml spoonfuls once a day. For children aged between 6-12, it is recommended that they take one 5ml spoonful twice a day, in the morning and evening.

Are there any side effects?

  • Headaches
  • Dizziness
  • Tiredness
  • Restlessness
  • Dry mouth
