How Numark Nasal Decongestant Spray works

Numark Nasal Decongestant Spray contains the active ingredient oxymetazoline. Oxymetazoline is a decongestant that helps to reduce congestion in the nasal passages to make breathing easier.



Always use Numark Nasal Decongestant Spray exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. 

Place the tip of the nozzle inside your nostril. Hold your other nostril closed and spray twice. Repeat the process in your other nostril.


Side effects

Like all medicines, Numark Nasal Decongestant Spray may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include: 


  • Skin rashes or reactions 
  • Sneezing 
  • Stinging or burning sensation in the nose
  • Headaches
  • Dizziness 
  • Vomiting 
  • Nausea 
  • A change in your heart rate 


If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.


Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. 



Numark Nasal Decongestant Spray may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.


Using/taking other medicines

If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using this product. 


Age restrictions 

This product is not recommended for use in children under 12 years old. 


Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before using any new medicine. 

Driving and operating machinery 

This product can cause dizziness. If you are affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so. 

Storage information

Store in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging.
