Numark Night Cold & Flu Oral Solution is a treatment that provides nighttime relief from cold and flu symptoms.
How Numark Night Cold & Flu Oral Solution works
Numark Night Cold & Flu Oral Solution contains paracetamol, promethazine and dextromethorphan.
Paracetamol reduces fever and helps with general aches and pains. Promethazine dries up a runny nose and aids in a peaceful night's sleep. Dextromethorphan relieves a dry, tickly and irritating cough.
Directions
Always take Numark Night Cold & Flu Oral Solution exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.
Children aged between 12-15: Take 10-15ml before bed.
Children aged 16 and over and adults: Take 20ml before bed.
Do not take this medicine for more than 3 consecutive days.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Numark Night Cold & Flu Oral Solution may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects may include:
- Drowsiness
- Nausea and vomiting
- Diarrhoea
- Slow thinking and physical movements
- Dry mouth
- Blurred vision
- Inability to pass urine
- Headaches
- Sweating
- Shivering
- Increased blood pressure
- Irritability
- Disorientation or dizziness

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Numark Night Cold & Flu Oral Solution may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you suffer from lung disease.
Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if:
- You have kidney or liver problems
- You have a chronic or persistent cough that occurs with asthma or produces a lot of mucus
- You have difficulty passing urine
- You have prostate problems
- You have epilepsy
- You have an intolerance to some sugars
- You have a history of drug abuse
- You have alcohol dependence
- You have glaucoma
- You have heart problems
- You are elderly and suffer from confusion
- Your doctor has told you that you are a slow metaboliser of CYP2D6
This medication may interfere with pregnancy tests and produce false positives.
Using/taking other medicines
If you are taking or have recently taken any medication, including medication obtained without a prescription, talk to your GP or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
You must tell your healthcare provider if you are taking the following medication:
- Blood-thinning medicines e.g. warfarin
- Domperidone or metoclopramide to control nausea and vomiting
- Cholestyramine, which is used to reduce levels of cholesterol in the blood
- Medication to help with sleep, anxiety or depression e.g. monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and antimuscarinic drugs
- Medicines to control your heart rhythm e.g. quinidine, amiodarone, flecainide or propafenone
- Medicines to help quit smoking e.g. bupropion
- Medicines to help with certain addictions or to treat pain e.g. methadone
- Medicines to help with overactive parathyroid glands e.g. cinacalcet
- Antipsychotic medicines e.g. haloperidol, perphenazine and thioridazine
Age restrictions
This product is not suitable for children under 12 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
This medication can be used during pregnancy if necessary. You should use the lowest possible dose that reduces your pain or fever for the shortest time possible. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.
Alcohol
Do not consume alcohol whilst you are taking this medicine.
Driving and operating machinery
This medicine can make you feel drowsy or dizzy. If affected, do not drive or operate machinery until you feel safe enough to do so.
Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
