What are Max Strength Cold & Flu Decongestant Capsules?

Cold and flu decongestant capsules are hard, red and yellow gelatine capsules taken to relieve symptoms of the common cold and flu. Cold and flu decongestant capsules contain the active ingredients paracetamol, caffeine and phenylephrine hydrochloride and offer relief from typical cold and flu symptoms, including fever, headache, tiredness and blocked nose. This pack contains 16 capsules.

Active ingredients: Paracetamol (500mg), caffeine (25mg) and phenylephrine hydrochloride (6mg).


How should cold and flu decongestant capsules be taken?

Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not chew the capsules.

Recommended dosage for adults and children over the age of 12 is 1 - 2 capsules every 4 - 6 hours. Do not take more than 8 capsules in any 24 hour period.


When should cold and flu decongestant capsules be taken?

Cold and flu decongestant capsules are suitable for relieving symptoms associated with the common cold and flu, such as fever, headache and blocked nose.


When should cold and flu decongestant capsules not be taken?

Max strength cold and flu decongestant should not be used if you are allergic to any of the active ingredients or any of the ingredients listed in the patient information leaflet. Cold and flu decongestant capsules are not suitable if you; have had ulcers of the stomach, have an overactive thyroid, have swelling or narrowing of blood vessels, suffer from heart disease, phaeochromocytoma, enlarged prostate, diabetes, closed angled glaucoma or are taking sympathomimetic decongestants, beta blockers (to treat high blood pressure) or antidepressants (MAOI’s.)


Do I need a prescription to order cold and flu decongestant capsules?

No, you don’t need a prescription to order cold and flu decongestant capsules.

It is important however that you follow the recommended dosage to avoid side effects and to get the best results from it.


Can I take cold and flu decongestant capsules if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

Cold and flu decongestant capsules should only be taken if they have specifically been recommended by your GP. Always consult your GP or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.


Can I drink alcohol when I’m taking cold and flu decongestant capsules?

No, cold and flu decongestant tablets contain paracetamol and should not be taken while drinking alcohol.


Warnings:

Do not give to children under the age of 12.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage.

Consult your GP immediately if you believe you may have taken too many of these capsules.

Unfortunately the Numark Cold and Flu Capsules are currently out of stock. We haven't a date on when these are returning back into stock.

The ingredients within these capsules are: paracetamol 500 mg, caffeine 25 mg, phenylephrine hydrochloride 6.1 mg.

This is the same combination as Lemsip Max Cold & Flu or Beechams Cold & Flu. You should find that they're very similar.
