Buy Norimin

Norimin is a reliable combined contraception pill. It’s easy to take and when taken correctly, it’s 99% effective. If Norimin or any other contraceptive pill is not taken properly there is a chance you may become pregnant after unprotected sex.

How Norimin works

The hormones ethinylestradiol and norethisterone in Norimin stop your ovaries from releasing an egg. They also help prevent sperm from reaching an egg, making it difficult for an egg to implant itself in the lining of the womb.

If you begin using Norimin on days 1-5 of your period, you should be immediately protected from pregnancy.

If you start after day 1 and/or have a short/irregular cycle you will need to use condoms for a week if you have sexual intercourse.

Directions

Always take Norimin exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.

Many women prefer to take 1 pill daily for 21 days, then have a 4 or 7 day break before starting the next pack.

Norimin can also be taken as follows:

  • Tricycling: Taking 1 pill every day for 9 weeks with no breaks. After 9 weeks take a 4 or 7 day break before starting the cycle again.
  • Continuous use: Taking 1 pill every day with no break.
  • Flexible extended use: Taking 1 pill every day for a minimum of 21 days. If you get bleeding that isn’t normal for you, take a 4 day break. On day 5 begin taking the pill again and don’t have another break for at least 21 days.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Norimin may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:

  • Headaches
  • Nausea
  • Breast discomfort
  • Irregular bleeding
  • Mood swings

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties, and/or loss of consciousness. Some women can develop blood clots. Norimon carries a slightly higher risk of blood clots than other pills.

Warnings

Norimon may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients or if you have any of the following:

  • You have had a stroke
  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Asthma
  • Migraine or other headaches
  • Depression
  • A disorder of phosphorus metabolism
  • You have had inflammation, infection, or clotting in any blood vessels, including a clot in the lung
  • You have had liver disease (including tumours of any type), a history of jaundice or cholestatic jaundice of pregnancy, or severe generalised itch in the body during pregnancy, Dubin-Johnson Syndrome, or Rotor Syndrome
  • You have abnormal vaginal bleeding
  • You are pregnant or think you might be pregnant
  • You have cancer or suspected cancer of the breast or sex organs and known or suspected oestrogen-dependant tumours
  • You have a family history of breast nodules, fibrocystic disease, or have had an abnormal mammogram
  • You have sickle-cell anaemia
  • You have lipid metabolism disorder, such as congenital hyperlipidemia
  • You have otosclerosis which worsened in past pregnancies

Talk to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this medicine if you have had any of the following:

  • Recent surgery or trauma
  • Recently had a baby
  • Been confined to bed rest for long periods

If you take an oral contraceptive in the above situations, there is a higher risk of developing blood clots in the deep veins of your body. These can then break away and block a blood vessel elsewhere in your body.

Age restrictions

Norimin is suitable for women up to the age of 50.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Do not take the Norimin pill if you are pregnant.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new medicine.

Fertility risks

Norimin is easily reversible and it will not affect your fertility levels, however, it may take a few months before your cycle returns to normal.
