What is Moviprep Orange?
Moviprep Orange is a zesty flavoured laxative that’s used to empty the contents of your bowels so you’re examination ready. This product contains the two sachets that you’ll need to complete the treatment.
What is the recommended dosage?
Always take Moviprep Orange exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. The recommended dosage is 2 litres of the laxative solution containing the pair of sachets, A and B. Dissolve both of these sachets in water to make a 1 litre solution first. Use the remaining sachets to create an additional 1 litre solution if your doctor advises it.
Is Moviprep Orange suitable for children?
Moviprep Orange is not suitable for children under the age of 18. If you’re looking for a laxative for a child under the age of 18, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice on alternative treatment options.
Is Moviprep Orange suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking any new products. There is no data to show whether this product is suitable to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, therefore it should only be used under the advice of a medical professional.
Can Moviprep Orange be taken with food and drink?
Do not consume any solid food from when you start to take Moviprep Orange until after you’ve had the examination. When taking this laxative, you should continue to drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration as it doesn’t replace your regular liquid intake.
When should this product not be used?
Moviprep Orange may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not take this solution if you:

Are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the listed ingredients

Have an obstruction in your intestine (gut)

Have a perforated gut wall

Have a disorder of stomach emptying
-
Have paralysis of the gut (often occurs after an operation to the abdomen)

Suffer from phenylketonuria. This is a hereditary inability of the body to use a particular amino acid.

Are unable to produce enough glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase
-
Have toxic megacolon (a severe complication of acute colitis).

Need to thicken fluids in order to swallow them safely

Have a tendency to regurgitate swallowed drinks, food or acid from the stomach

Have kidney disease

Have heart failure or heart disease including high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats or palpitations

Have thyroid disease
-
Have dehydration
-
Have inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis)
Are there any side effects?
Like all products, Moviprep Orange may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. Common side effects may include:

Abdominal pain or abdominal distension

Tiredness

Feeling generally unwell

Soreness of the anus

Nausea
-
Fever
-
Hunger
-
Problems sleeping

Dizziness
-
Headache
-
Vomiting
-
Indigestion
-
Thirst

Chills

Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. After you have dissolved Moviprep Orange in water, store the solution at room temperature (below 25°C) or in the fridge (2°C -8°C). Do not keep it for more than 24 hours.
