Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment - 40g
What is Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment?
Suitable to use at every nappy change, Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment cares for your baby’s delicate skin by forming a barrier to help protect them against things that can cause nappy rash. This unscented and lanolin-free barrier ointment (meaning it’s suitable for vegans!) keeps your little one’s skin soft, smooth and protected.
How to use this product
Always use Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. Use daily at every nappy change on clean, dry skin. Apply a pea size amount to the skin, gently spreading the barrier ointment evenly to form a thin protective layer. Keep the tube nozzle clean of product residue to ensure the cap can be closed tightly.
When should you use nappy rash cream?
If your baby has sensitive skin or a nappy rash, it’s time to apply a nappy rash cream or barrier cream during nappy changes to protect the skin against moisture or to help the rash heal. If your baby’s skin is normal, you don’t need to apply a nappy rash cream between changes.
What causes nappy rash?
Nappy rash can be caused by many things and it’s usually nothing to worry about - in fact, most babies will develop a nappy rash at some point.
It can be caused by not changing their nappy for a long period of time, resulting in them being in extended contact with wee or poo; not cleaning the nappy area properly; soap, detergent or bubble bath; alcohol-based baby wipes and certain medicines.
When should this product not be used?
Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this ointment if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
