What is Lipobase Cream?
Lipobase is a fragrance-free, hypoallergenic emollient cream for the treatment of dry, sensitive and dehydrated skin in both adults and children. Lipobase improves the skin’s hydration, reduces dryness, prevents scaling and protects the skin from harm. This cream is an oil-in-water emulsion with a high lipid content (70%). It can also be used against skin irritations caused by water or detergents. Additionally, you can use Lipobase alternately with creams or ointments containing corticosteroids.
How to use this product
Always use Lipobase Cream exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. To use, apply a thin layer of cream to the skin one to three times per day, or more often if required. You may apply Lipobase to your face. It does not stain your clothing and can be easily washed off with water. You can use this cream more often in places where the cream is likely to be removed by washing or rubbing. The duration of treatment depends on the condition of the skin. There is no maximum duration.
Is Lipobase Cream suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?
Lipobase cream is safe to use if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding. However, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must always ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking or using any new products.
When should this product not be used?
Lipobase Cream may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this cream if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Please note, Lipobase contains paraffin. Do not smoke or go near naked flames while using this product as there is a risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings etc) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up but not totally remove it.
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness. If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
