What is Lanacane Cream?

Lanacane is a medicated, anaesthetic cooling cream which provides fast-acting relief from itching and irritation on the skin. It works underneath the skin to anaesthetise the sensory nerves to stop itching and eliminate the urge to scratch. The soothing formula is easy to apply and provides a protective barrier over the affected area, to prevent further irritation and to stop you from scratching which can make the itching sensation worse and cause infection. If you’re looking for an effective soothing treatment for itchy and irritated skin, try Lanacane Cream.

Why is my skin itchy?

Itchy skin is a common occurrence which most people will experience from time to time. If your skin is dehydrated and dry, it may become itchy, flaky and irritated. This irritation may become worse due to scratching or friction caused by clothing rubbing against the affected skin.Other causes of itchy skin can include:

  • Allergic reaction
  • Hives
  • Prickly heat
  • A symptom of a dry skin condition, such as eczema
  • Fungal skin infection, such as thrush or athlete’s foot
  • Parasites, such as head lice and scabies

If your skin is itchy, it isn’t usually something to worry about, but it can be uncomfortable. There are a variety of steps you can take to stop your skin from itchy and prevent damage from scratching including:

  • Patting or tapping the skin instead of scratching
  • Hold something cool, like a damp towel, on your skin
  • Use cool or warm instead of hot water in your bath or shower
  • Use unperfumed moisturisers
  • Keep your nails clean
  • Avoid tight clothing
  • Use laundry liquid or powder that is suitable for sensitive skin

How can Lanacane help to soothe itchy skin?

Lanacane contains the active ingredients, Benzocaine which works below the skin surface to anaesthetise the sensory nerves which prevents itching and irritating fast. The soothing formula has a cooling effect on irritated, dry or itchy skin caused by a variety of conditions including:

  • Insect bites and stings
  • Nettle stings
  • Small cuts and grazes
  • Chafing
  • External vaginal and external anal itching.
