Buy Jext Pen
Jext is an auto-injector pen containing a sterile solution of adrenaline, intended for emergency treatment of life-threatening allergic reactions (anaphylactic shock) to insect stings or bites, foods, drugs or exercise. Symptoms of an anaphylactic shock occur within minutes and can include:
- Itching of the skin or raised rash
- Flushing
- Swelling of the lips, throat, tongue, hands and feet
- Wheezing, hoarseness or shortness of breath
- Nausea or vomiting
- Stomach cramps
- In some cases, loss of consciousness
How Jext works
Jext contains adrenaline, a hormone that the body naturally releases in response to stress. Adrenaline reverses the effects of anaphylactic shock, opening up the airways, reducing throat swelling and returning blood pressure back to normal.
Directions
Always take this medicine exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. The recommended dose for adults and children weighing over 30kg (66lb) is 300 micrograms, injected into the outer thigh muscle. For children between 15kg (33lb) and 30kg (66lb), the recommended dose is 150 micrograms. Use the Jext pen as soon as you notice the signs of an acute allergic reaction, through clothing if necessary.
- Grasp the Jext pen with your dominant hand (the one you use to write with), with your thumb closest to the yellow cap.
- Pull off the yellow cap with your other hand.
- Place the black injector tip against your outer thigh, holding the injector at a right angle (90°) to the thigh
- Push the black tip firmly into your outer thigh until you hear a ‘click’ confirming the injection has started, then keep it pushed in. Hold the injector firmly in place against the thigh for 10 seconds (a slow count to 10), then remove. The black tip will extend automatically and hide the needle.
- Massage the injection area for 10 seconds. Then seek emergency medical help - dial 999 and ask for an ambulance, state anaphylaxis.
You may notice a small air bubble in the injector pen, but this doesn’t affect the way the product works. Even though most of the liquid remains in the pen after use, it cannot be reused.
While waiting for the ambulance, lie down with your feet raised (unless this makes you feel breathless, in which case you should sit up). Ask someone to stay with you until the ambulance arrives in case you feel unwell again.
If you are attending to someone who is unconscious, place them on their side in the recovery position.
