Buy Freestyle Libre 2 PLUS Sensor

The FreeStyle Libre 2 PLUS Sensor is a glucose monitoring system. It is designed to allow you to avoid finger pricks. It can be worn for up to 15 days and is comfortable to wear.

The sensor sends your readings directly to your phone every minute so you can see how your diet, activity levels and medication impact your sugar levels. It also has an optional glucose alarm which can notify you of your blood sugar levels.

The Freestyle Libre 2 PLUS Sensor has been proven to significantly lower your HbA1c.

Directions

To begin, download and set up the app. Once you have set up the app on your smartphone you can apply the sensor.

Make sure the area you are applying the sensor to is clean. Unscrew the cap of the sensor applicator and put it to one side. Place the sensor applicator over your arm. Press down on it firmly to place the sensor on the back of your upper arm. Listen for a click and wait for a few seconds. Gently and slowly pull the sensor applicator away from your arm.

Although you can wear the sensor at all times it must be taken off for the following medical scans:

  • MRI
  • CT scan
  • Diathermy treatment
  • X-ray

Great most of the time but sensors seem to experience data dropouts in the last few days before needing changing

Shame not available for type 2 on NHS - really good product, saves all of the finger pricking and good support from Abbott the manufacturers when the sensor malfunctions. Expensive when self-funding but the peace of mind that sugar levels can be real-time monitored on your app is well worth it.
