Buy Femodene ED
Femodene ED is a combined hormonal contraceptive pill that protects you against pregnancy.
Like other hormonal contraceptives, Femodene ED doesn’t protect you from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). To protect yourself from both STDs and pregnancy, use a barrier method of contraception, such as a condom, in addition to the pill.
How Femodene ED works
Femodene ED contains 2 types of female sex hormones: oestrogen (ethinylestradiol) and progestogen (gestodene). The hormones work in 3 ways to prevent pregnancy.
The hormones prevent an egg from being released by your ovaries and make the mucus in your cervix thicker. Femodene ED also prevents the lining of your womb from thickening enough for an egg to grow in it.
Directions
Always take Femodene ED exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. If you forget to take Femodene ED or experience a bout of sickness or diarrhoea, please refer to the patient information leaflet for advice, as you may not be fully protected against pregnancy.
Each pack contains 28 tablets, with the days of the week marked on each strip. There are 21 days of active tablets and 7 days of inactive tablets on the final row. Take the tablets every day, preferably at the same time.
If you start taking Femodene ED on a Wednesday, you should take the tablet that is labelled ‘Wed’. Follow the direction of the arrows on the strip until you have completed it. Do not leave a gap between each pack.
Swallow each pill whole with water.
When you can start taking Femodene ED
Starting the pill for the first time or restarting after a break
Take your first Femodene ED tablet on the first day of your period. By taking it on the first day of your period, you will be protected against pregnancy straight away.
If you are currently taking a 21-day pill
You should start taking Femodene ED the day after you finish your current strip. You will be protected with your first pill when taking it straight away. You will not bleed until you have completed the first strip of Femodene ED.
If you are currently taking a 28-day pill
You should start taking Femodene ED the day after your last active pill. You will be protected with your first pill when taking it straight away. You will not bleed until you have completed your first strip of Femodene ED.
If you are currently taking a progestogen-only pill (POP)
Start taking Femodene ED on the first day of bleeding, even if you have already taken your POP that day. You will be protected straight away.
After a miscarriage or abortion
If you have had a miscarriage or abortion during the first 3 months, your GP might tell you to take Femodene ED straight away.
If you have had a miscarriage or abortion after 3 months, you must ask your GP for advice. You may need to use extra contraception, such as a condom, for a short time.
After having a baby
If you are fully mobile, your doctor might advise that you start taking Femodene ED 21 days after giving birth. You will not have to wait for your next period; however, you should use a condom for the first 7 days of taking the tablets.

Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
